 Joy Houlihan | Sioux Falls, SD Joy's husband, Tim Houlihan, wrote this: "My wife decided to try deer hunting with me. It was her first time deer hunting. We spent a lot of time with her practicing with her new rifle that summer. But it paid off in the fall. The second day out she went to one end of the tree grove we where hunting while I went to the other. A little later I heard 3 shots fairly close together. And could hear her yelling "I got two, I got two!" I had a nice doe in the scope of my rifle but figured I should go help her. So down goes my rifle and I walk over to her. She is standing beside one doe. She said she shot the other over by another tree. When I looked in that direction there was another one dead by the tree she had pointed to. Turns out the first shot hit an ear. The next two where perfect shots. So the weekend ends with her getting both of her deer at one time and I didn't get any that weekend."

I've lived in South Dakota for six years and hunted small game and archery deer ever since I moved here. This photo includes myself, my Dad and Grandpa, and several other PA residents who are very close friends of ours. The friends have been visiting a farm near Winner, SD annually for many years to partake in the non-resident pheasant harvest each fall and invited us to join them this year for the fun. What an awesome experience!" |
